Portland claim profile
Three recent events show the kinds of damage Portland property owners have had to claim for:
Ice and snow, February 2021
Over Presidents Day weekend in 2021, winter storms covered Portland with as much as 10 inches of snow and 0.75 inches of ice, according to the Portland Bureau of Transportation. The city’s Urban Forestry team reported a high volume of significant tree impacts from the February 12-15 storm. Trees and limbs on roofs and pipes that freeze and burst become storm and water damage claims.
Record heat, June 2021
Portland set an all-time heat record on three days in a row in June 2021: 108°F on June 26, 112°F on June 27 and 116°F on June 28, according to NOAA Climate.gov.
Wildfire smoke, September 2020
During the September 2020 wildfires, Portland had two hazardous air quality days and set a record Air Quality Index of 477 on September 13, against a previous record of 157 in 2017, according to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. Smoke can damage a home the fire never reached; see fire and smoke damage claims.

How we handle your claim
- Inspect and document. We inspect your Portland property and document the full loss, including damage that is easy to miss.
- Estimate and file. We price the repairs at what a quality contractor in Multnomah County charges, not a national average, and we handle the paperwork, including the proof of loss.
- Negotiate and settle. We negotiate with your insurer until the claim is paid. Our fee is a percentage of your claim, paid only when you are paid.
See how we handle water damage, fire damage, storm damage and vandalism and theft claims.

Portland claim questions
When is the best time to hire a public adjuster in Portland?
The most advantageous time to hire us is immediately after the damage occurs, before you even file the claim. However, we can be brought in at any stage, even if your claim has already been delayed or denied.
I already received a check, but it is not enough. Is it too late?
Usually not. Unless you have signed a full and final release, a claim can often be reopened when more damage is found or the first settlement was too low. We review what the insurer paid and what it left out.
How much does a public adjuster cost in Portland?
Nothing up front. Our fee is a percentage of your claim, and we are paid only when your insurance company pays you.
What Portland claims do you handle?
Water damage, fire and smoke, storm, and vandalism and theft claims for homes, rentals and businesses across Portland and Multnomah County.
